Call for Designers: The Third Annual Pens to Lens Screenwriting Competition

Together with our partners, The Champaign-Urbana Film Society and Champaign Movie Makers, CUDO is thrilled to announce the call for designers for the third annual Pens to Lens Student Screenwriting Competition!

This community-wide collaborative project was established with the goal of creating an opportunity for K-12 Students to participate in the local filmmaking community by writing original screenplays for short films. Last year, we received over 150 screenplays from students aged 5 to 18, from which community filmmakers and designers produced 22 short films and over 60 movie posters. This year, we’ve got over 200 screenplays, so the opportunities are even greater—and your contribution more critical than ever!!

WHAT CAN I DO?

The screenplays have been submitted—now we need the best and brightest designers to creatively express the kids’ stories in another way. We need YOU to make movie posters!

This is YOUR chance to make a poster (or several) for a movie by the most creative writers ever: enthusiastic, imaginative schoolchildren. All posters will be displayed at the Pens to Lens Gala on August 15, 2015, and the student whose script you illustrate will receive a copy of your poster.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

Check out the Pens to Lens “Create a Poster” instructions to get more details and access the link to the scripts.

The sooner you submit your choices, the best chance you have of working on a poster for your favorite screenplay.
