We’ve got a spot for a Creative Group Manager who loves to do the hands-on work but can also drive a team to greatness. We’re looking for a creative leader who lives for great ideas, has expertise across traditional and new mediums, and who thinks that ground-breaking, results-driven design is, well, the only design there is.
But enough about us. Let’s talk about what’s in it for you. You’ll get the opportunity to shape and drive the Horizon Hobby corporate brand as well as 20 additional category brands. You’ll be leading a team of talented designers and copywriters in pursuit of best-in-class creative. And, you’ll work on just about every kind of deliverable out there– packaging, advertising, web, interactive– and anything else you can dream up.
You’ll also be a part of an employee-owned company headquartered in Champaign, Illinois, but with other offices in the US, as well as the UK, Germany, France and China. Over 700 people who are passionate about what they do and dedicated to one thing: helping the world have fun with hobbies.
So if you’re a Senior Designer or Art Director with leadership experience (3+ years minimum) and a portfolio that shows it, let’s talk…now.
Qualifications/Experience:
- BS/BA or BFA in a Graphic Design or other relevant field preferred.
- Five years of creative experience– 3+ in a leadership role– in an agency or design studio setting.
- Demonstrated conceptual/creative ability and understanding of the visual, content and copy needs of branded marketing.
- Broad understanding of traditional and digital media, package design, collateral/catalog design, web and interactive design, social media and mobile.
- Must have demonstrated strong leadership abilities and excellent communications skills.
- Experience leading strategic brainstorming sessions, campaign development, creative brief development and directing creative execution.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities that drive excellence among team members.
