Brian Dougherty is principal creative director at Celery Design Collaborative, a studio focused on creating communications that have a positive impact in the world. He will be speaking at the U of I’s School of Art + Design on April 19th about green design.
- Book Art Workshop with Bea Nettles :: April 10
Three Sewn Bindings: Pamphlet Stitch, Punch, and Multiple Needle Exposed Spine Sewing.
Join instructor Bea Nettles in this one-day workshop through the Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Participants will create three prototypes with needle and thread. These blank books will be made with a range of papers provided and can be used later for journals or gifts. Paper essentials will be covered and students will be given sources for tools and materials for future independent work. More »

The 2010 Annual Decagon Awards ceremony, celebrating the best and brightest creative minds in Central Illinois, is coming to Decatur this May.
The event will take place Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Beach House in Decatur (In Nelson Park on Lake Decatur — 2301 East Lakeshore Dr., Decatur, IL). Appetizers will be served, and the cash bar will be open at 6 p.m. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m.
